This illustration is the one I made for the cover of the blog, it is the emblem of my pseudonym Lady Melusine : the fairy Melusine who turns into a dragon-snake every Saturday, victim of a curse (according to the book of C. Glot and A. Gaulme, Melusine).
The concept I originally imagined is a little different from the final.
First draft :

After coloring and adding details on the face I was not really satisfied with the character :

I stopped my painting at this stage and the following evening I decided to start all over again, changing the pose of the character and taking inspiration from a photograph :

I went to the coloring stage :

When I started adding shadows / lights I was much happier with the result :

And I finalized this fast enough painting that took me 2 nights :
